About Abel


Abel G. Bosquez was born in Olton, Texas on September 13, 1958. He graduated from Plainview High School in 1976. After high school, Abel served his country in the United States Marine Corps active duty from 1976 to 1980 and in the reserves until 1985. He received an Associates of Science in Speech Communications from Amarillo College in 1994 and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Union Leadership and Administration from the National Labor College in 2008. Abel has been employed by B&W Pantex as a Production Tech since 1982.

Abel’s involvement in Community Organizations include:

  • League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) and has served as District One District Director, Deputy, District Director, District Treasurer, District Chaplain, Council President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Parliamentarian
  • Served as Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary of Amarillo Hispanic Chamber of Commerce
  • Board Member of 79107 YES Neighborhood Program
  • Board Member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Advisory School Board
  • Served as Secretary and Board Member High Plain Food Bank
